Tips on Remodeling Your Shower on a Budget (without buying junk)

Shower remodeling is a pain. It is a long and twisting road. While you must have a vision of the finished shower, there will be twists and turns you never anticipated. Not until you ‘open up the patient’ which in this case is your shower.

Shower remodeling costs a fortune and no one wants to spend hundreds and thousands like that! So, in this article, I am going to tell you how to remodel your shower on a budget (without buying junk).

1. Look for Standard Products

How often has it happened that when you went to get a replacement for a part of your item that was broken, you find out that your item was custom made? Here is a simple equation for you to understand:

Custom Size and shapes = more money out of your pocket!

Always look for products that are mass produced so as to save the extra bucks that you spend on customized products.

2. Don’t be in a hurry

You must understand that it is fine to do stuff in steps. If remodeling is costing you a fortune, you can always divide the cost of the whole remodeling into months and then buy and remodel in steps. Rushing to remodel your shower can be heavy on your pockets and make you use up most of your savings (if you have any).

The tip here is to do the right thing. Not to do it quick.

3. Buy High Quality Material

Your shower remodeling material should not only be bought for their style or shape, but for their quality and durability. Your shower must be built to last. Although buying cheap products can be easy and light on pockets, investing in high quality material will ensure that you save those extra bucks spent on replacing the cheap broken items that you bought.

4. DIY and BIY

As labor costs are on the rise and it is becoming expensive day by day to hire a professional to remodel your shower, work on doing it yourself and buying it yourself.

Buying it yourself involves buying items yourself and then hiring a professional to install it, whereas, do it yourself is you completely doing everything.

You can find many tutorials regarding DIY shower remodeling. DIY will be adventurous and will save you huge amounts.

5. Make sure you get a complete package

For me, this is the most important point that I can make. Always make sure the ‘extras’ are included in the thing that you are buying. Even if the extras are not included, make sure you buy them upfront to avoid any bad surprises which can make your wallet thin.

6. Do not attempt to do everything yourself

I cannot stress enough on this. Do not think that you can do all the work yourself. You may end up making it worse and having to hire professional skilled labor later making it more expensive than it already was. Sure you can always check on the internet on how things are done but leave it to the professionals if you get stuck with something and make sure you do not attempt something which is not your forte.

While you may not want to remodel your shower yourself, I can assure you that this will help you in saving some huge amounts of money.

Is it easy? Hell No!

But it will all be worth it. Know your goals, be realistic and always ask for advice along the way. This way you can seriously avoid any unnecessary costs.
